Tata GroupTata Jammu & Kashmir Floods Response ProgramThe Tata Group immediately initiated its Tata Jammu & Kashmir Floods Response Programme in 2014. Institutionally situated within Tata Relief Committee, and coordinated by Tata Sustainability Group, the programme aimed to support communities in the aftermath of the floods by focusing its response on those worst affected in the districts of Baramulla, Pulwama, Anantnag, Budgam, Bandipora and Srinagar. The relief support comprised of distributing survival kits, solar lanterns and safe drinking water to setting up medical camps, community kitchens and interim shelters. The rehabilitation phase efforts included strengthening the Government Veterinary Hospital in Srinagar with necessary equipment to provide the best medical care to livestock, construction Early Childhood Care and Education Centres, strengthening the early childhood education, providing schools with pre fabricated infrastructure, computer laboratories and furniture supports in collaboration with the Education Department. Total lives impacted were 1.24 lakhs.

Tata GroupOne Tata Andhra Pradesh Hudhud Cyclone Response ProgrammeThe One Tata Andhra Pradesh Hudhud cyclone Response Programme was institutionally situated within Tata Relief Committee, and coordinated by Tata Sustainability Group, the programme aimed to support communities in the aftermath of the cyclone by focusing its response on immediate relief, followed by extensive rehabilitation. Total lives impacted as a part of this response were 1.8 lakhs. As part of the immediate relief, measures were taken to clear the debris, make safe drinking water accessible through RO plants, provide solar lights and restore power lines in the city, the Tata Swach water purifier kits were also distributed in the communities in collaboration with various Tata companies. Moving on from Relief to the Rehabilitation phase, the interventions concentrated on rehabilitation of persons with disability, youth skill development programme, livelihood support, improving water and sanitation and setting up computer laboratories and play facilities in schools, RO water and desalination plant to provide clean drinking water and working with government in building community based disaster resilience and preparedness.

Tata GroupTata Assam Flood Disaster Response Program 2022The Tata group established the "Tata Assam Flood Disaster Response Program' to undertake the relief work. A host of Tata companies led by APPL, including IHCL, Tata Communications, Tata Steel, Tata Capital, Tata Projects and Titan concentrated their efforts in one of the worst affected districts of Cachar which has inhospitable terrain and borders Bangladesh. Together with the district administration, Assam Rifles and Tata volunteers, the program reached out to the most inaccessible areas and touched the lives of over 6,000 individuals.

Tata GroupTata Uttarakhand ProgrammeThe state of Uttarakhand experienced massive floods and landslides in 2013, resulting in unprecedented loss of lives, property and livelihoods. The Tata group established the "Tata Uttarakhand Programme (TUP)" to undertake relief and rehabilitation in the worst affected districts of Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi. The group reached out to thousands of beneficiaries across the state through relief and medical assistance. Subsequently, the group undertook a 7-year long rehabilitation programme, focused on four themes of intervention – Livelihoods and skilling, Early Childhood Care and Education, Water and Sanitation and Social and Development Infrastructure.

Tata GroupLivelihoods and Skilling under the Tata Uttarakhand ProgrammeUnder the seven-year long rehabilitation effort, the Tata Uttarakhand Programme specially focussed on building livelihoods and skills. By providing improved seeds, new breeds of livestock and setting up household-level micro enterprises, the Tata group helped restore natural resource based-livelihoods and improved the income of small or marginal families. Skilling centres established as a part of the response enabled skill development and opened the doors to the organized sector.

IHCLIHCL at Varanasi – Keeping the roots alivePromoting the indigenous culture of its regions of operation, including its natural, cultural & culinary heritage a key tenet of Taj’s corporate philosophy. Since 2008, the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has been committed to reviving the ancient art of handloom weaving. Through its Livelihood Support Programme, IHCL sources Benarasi silk sarees, worn as uniforms by its front desk associates at select hotels. Additionally, IHCL is also working with the Ganga Seva Nidhi to support the evening aarti at the Varanasi Ghats.
